The Victorio Hand Operated Grain Mill : A Review, Tutorial and Recipe
The Victorio Hand Operated Grain Mill is an essential piece of equipment in my homestead kitchen. Here’s an in-depth review of the grain mill, plus a full tutorial and my favorite Honey Oatmeal Bread recipe.
The Victorio Hand Operated Grain Mill: Review
If you have never made a loaf of bread with freshly ground flour, you are truly missing out! Not only do freshly ground flours taste amazing, but they retain more of their nutrients. Also, you can store whole grains much longer than flours. Having your own grain mill gives you the advantage of using different grains or even beans to make flours, which is perfect if you have allergies or gluten intolerance. The Victorio Hand Operated Grain Mill is an affordable way to get started with grinding your own flour. We love ours and use it regularly for grinding grains, like wheat and oats, to make delicious homemade bread. We keep it clamped to the counter in our kitchen so that it is always ready to go. It does take some effort to grind the grains by hand, but I prefer to do it this way since no electricity is required. You can also purchase an electric motor for the Victorio Grain Mill if you want to save yourself some time by being able to multitask and do other things while the grain is grinding.
