As your summer garden begins to produce a harvest, the time to plan your fall garden begins. Once you figure out the plants you want, you have to figure out when to plant your fall garden. Just like spring planting, timing is important and will determine the success of your crops.

Beef Cattle: The Ultimate Guide to Raising Quality Beef for Your Freezer

If you are anything like me, you have gotten sick and tired of trying to decode all the different labels that are plastered to the meat at your local grocery store. They make even the cheapest of meats sound like they are raised in the wide-open spaces of the Wyoming countryside.  How would one ever know how the meat they are eating is really raised? You may even be considering that raising your own beef cattle is the best way to eat the kind of meat that you really want. So, now you must decide how you really want it, and if it is for you.

Natural Headache Relief: 5 Headache Remedies That Really Work

I have suffered from headaches my entire life. Migraines, tension headaches, sinus headaches, you name it, I get them. Over the past year or so, I have been on a quest to find reliable, natural headache relief. I hate popping pills everytime I get a headache, which, in the past has been almost daily.

I am a firm believer that most illnesses can be treated and/or prevented with proper diet. I believe that food is medicine, and illness is a red flag telling you that you are not eating properly. Many conditions are caused by a vitamin or mineral deficiency that can be remedied by changing what you’re eating.

I have also studied herbal medicine for many years, and have experienced amazing first-hand results. I love plant medicine and using essential oils for health and wellness as well as around my home.

So, when I began looking for natural headache relief, of course, I started by looking into diet changes, herbal remedies, and essential oils. I tried a lot of different things, but there were a few things that stood out as giving amazing results. Here’s what I found to be most effective, why it works, and how to use it!

You can homestead in an apartment, on a lot in town, on an acre in the suburbs, on a farm in the country, or anywhere in between. Surprise Winter Storm on the Homestead: Are You Prepared?

Surprise! Our predicted “light dusting” of snow turned out to be a full-blown winter storm! We got about 8″ of snow! Wow! Definitely not the norm for us here in Northwest Georgia.

There is always a lesson to be learned from surprises like this! For example, I couldn’t believe how many posts I was seeing on Facebook from local people who hadn’t filled their propane tanks yet! C’mon people, it’s December! If you plan on relying on propane for heat, don’t wait until you’re in the middle of a winter storm to try to fill your propane tank! And then, these people had the nerve to be outraged that the propane companies wouldn’t come out during the storm! Why on earth would you allow your tanks to get that low?
